SHINE — A Port Ludlow man had been treated and released from a Seattle hospital as of Sunday after he was airlifted there following a weekend wreck on state Highway 104.
Gary F. Zambor, 37, was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center after his car was hit by a pickup truck about a mile west of the Hood Canal Bridge at 3:08 p.m. on Saturday.
Zambor, driving a silver 2005 Chevrolet Monte Carlo east, was stopped to make a left turn at Stark Road when an eastbound maroon 1994 Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by 17-year-old Jacob T. Richardson of Bainbridge Island hit the Monte Carlo from behind, according to a State Patrol report.
Troopers said that Richardson was traveling behind a red Jeep that passed Zambor on the right shoulder and did not see Zambor’s car stopped.
A Harborview spokeswoman said Sunday morning Zambor had been treated and released.
Richardson was not injured and was cited for “speed too fast for conditions,” the State Patrol said.
Both cars were damaged and towed from the scene.
