Heart health is topic of forum to be held Feb. 11 in Sequim

SEQUIM — A cardiologist will discuss how to keep hearts healthy at a free WOW! Working on Wellness forum at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11.

Dr. Alexander Pan, Olympic Medical Center cardiologist, will present information at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 S. Blake Ave.

Pan’s lecture, “The Healthy Heart,” will focus on cholesterol concerns, blood pressure management and exercise.

Pan will explain how an unhealthy heart can affect other organs and identify strategies and choices that can improve the condition of the heart.

Pan served residencies and fellowships at Boston University, Emory University and University of Hawaii.

He is board-certified in nephrology and internal medicine.

WOW! is a health education program of the Dungeness Valley Health & Wellness Clinic, Sequim’s free clinic.

The clinic at 777 N. Fifth Ave., Suite 109, provides basic urgent care and chronic health care services to uninsured people.

The basic urgent care clinic is open to patients Monday and Thursday evenings beginning at 5.
