BREMERTON — Artists from the North Olympic Peninsula have been selected for the one of the Northwest’s best-known regional exhibitions, the CVG show at the Collective Visions Gallery, 331 Pacific Ave. in Bremerton.
Sculptor Natalie Brown and fractal artist Pamela Dick are among those chosen to display their creations in the show to open at 1 p.m. this Saturday.
Theirs are among just 130 pieces selected from 800 submitted for consideration in the juried show.
Juror Greg Robinson, executive director and curator at the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art, will next choose the recipients of $7,500 in prizes.
The award winners will be announced in the reception and dinner from 5 p.m. to
7:30 p.m. Saturday at Bremerton’s Admiral Theater; tickets are free for balcony seating or $17 for those who’d like to partake in the dinner.
For reservations, phone 360-377-8327.
“Attendees and collectors will find a museum-quality show of work ranging in size from large sculptures, paintings and fiber art pieces to small prints and jewelry,” said CVG coordinator Alan Newberg.
The styles vary, he added, from traditional to provocative and deeply personal, and come from established as well as emerging artists.
People’s choice voting in the CVG show will start this Saturday, and then the winner will be announced at
7 p.m. Feb. 27 as part of another event at the gallery: a free talk by guest lecturer Michael D’Alessandro, director of Port Townsend’s Northwind Arts Center.
Meantime, the CVG Show will stay on display through Feb. 28 at Collective Visions, which is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and from noon to 4 p.m. Sundays.
