Shawn Matthew Roe had a history of violence.

“He had a slew of DVs,” Justin Arnold of The Herald of Everett said Sunday, referring to domestic violence violations.

Everett is Roe’s last known address.

Roe had been convicted of unlawful imprisonment, a felony, in 2007 in Mason County

Furthermore, Roe had so frightened his then-estranged wife, Mary Catherine Roe, that she carried a revolver with her into Nisqually Middle School in Lacey, where she taught language arts.

According to postings by Mason County Daily News.Com and the Shelton-Mason County Journal, Mary Roe resigned from her school position after the gun was discovered in her purse in September 2006.

The purse was in a secured area, and Mary Roe told a state investigator she hadn’t known she had brought it to school.

“[Mary] Roe told deputies she had the gun because she was afraid of her estranged husband, Shawn Roe,” the Mason County Daily News reported.
