LETTER: Motives misinterpreted

Many of the points raised in the letter “No Red Carpet” (PDN, March 21-22) are legitimate, but I think she misinterpreted the motives of those greeters she grumbled about.

I think they wanted to show that, despite whatever bad relations between the U.S. and Canada exist at upper governmental levels, down at the human level, they wanted to show amity.

I see nothing hypocritical in their action.
