PORT ANGELES — No one was hurt in a fire that set ablaze a house at 730 E. Fourth St. in Port Angeles on Saturday morning.

Port Angeles Fire Department reported that personnel were dispatched to the fire at 9:43 a.m. and found the single-story, single-family residence blazing with flames springing from doors and windows and creeping into the attic space.

Neighboring occupied structures were within 15 feet on each side of the home, firefighters said.

Firefighters confirmed no one was inside and extinguished the blaze before it spread to adjacent properties, they reported.

The house was so badly damaged that it is not habitable, firefighters said.

The cause and estimate of loss remained under investigation on Sunday.

Port Angeles Fire Department responded with a total of eight personnel including one chief officer and two volunteer and off-duty personnel.

Clallam County Fire District 2 assisted with six personnel including one engine and one chief officer, while Olympic Ambulance, Port Angeles Police Department, Clallam County Sheriff’s Office and Port Angeles Light Operations also assisted.
