Members of the Wild Rose Chorale sang a cappella holiday songs at various spots in downtown Port Townsend on Saturday afternoon. Their music was hosted by the Main Street Program, which also organized the community Christmas tree and Uptown fire tower lighting later that afternoon. (Diane Urbani de la Paz/Peninsula Daily News)
Santa Claus, surrounded by Mrs. Claus, left, and Kimberly the Elf, greeted community members of all ages on Saturday under the Tyler Street Plaza tent in downtown Port Townsend. Santa, known at other times of year as Nathan Barnett; Mrs. Claus, aka Cindy Madsen and Kimberly Snow — “that’s my real name” — were part of the Main Street Program’s seasonal activities. “With the holidays, the diet is not going well,” Barnett admitted, “but Mrs. Claus is getting me an exercise program for Christmas.” (Diane Urbani de la Paz/Peninsula Daily News)
