Physicians Community Benefit Fund announces its grants, scholarships

PORT ANGELES — The Clallam County Physicians Community Benefit Fund has announced its 2020 grant awards as well as the award of $31,500 in scholarships for the 2020-2021 academic year.
The scholarship recipients include:
• $3,500 — Cole Unres
• $3,000 — Melissa Estrada-Elena, Shannon Gordon and Mike Townsley
• $2,500 — Yela Carey, Zane Carey and Bailey Powers
• $2,000 — Hannah Little
• $1,500 — Madeleine Fritschler
• $1,000 — Veronica Adams, Alex Barry, Abigail Berry, Katlynne Brown, Elizabeth Hagaman, Karla Najera, Jane Rudzinski and Darcy VanWinkle.
The fund awarded $1,000 to the First Step Family Support Center to help purchase 10 cribs and safe sleep kits and $4,685.07 to the Port Angeles Food Bank to purchase a battery powered pallet jack and stocking carts.
