Semi-rollover blocking both lanes of 101 near Brinnon

BRINNON — Crews continue to work to remove a semi truck from a ditch after it rolled over and hit a power pole near Brinnon, blocking both lanes on U.S. Highway 101 on Thursday morning.
The rollover occurred near milepost 308 near Juanita Drive at 8:48 a.m. Thursday, the State Patrol. said.
Single lane alternating traffic was still in use at 6:30 p.m., said Tim Manly, Brinnon fire chief.
The driver, Sean P. Beck, 59, of Port Angeles was driving southbound when the truck went into the southbound ditch and struck a power pole, the State Patrol said.
He was not injured.
The State Patrol cited him for second-degree negligent driving.
A “handful” of Mason County Public Utility District customers were without power for several hours.
As of 6 p.m., crews were still at work and the Mason County Public Utility District workers would remain in the area to tend to the downed power lines and replace the pole, according to the State Patrol.
Beck was wearing a seat belt and drugs or alcohol were not involved, the State Patrol said.
The truck was completely destroyed, the State Patrol said.
#UPDATE: The non-injury semi collision on US 101 at MP 308 (near Juanita Drive) is still fully blocking, though passenger cars are able to utilize a detour on side streets.
