PORT TOWNSEND — The Port Townsend branch of the American Association of University Women heard a presentation about the 2019 TechTrek camp at a meeting Oct. 19.

The presentation involved pictures and stories from the local eighth-grade girls that the branch sponsored to attend the camp.

TechTrek is a week-long hands-on STEM camp sponsored by the association.

The branch sponsored 11 local students to attend the 2019 camp at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma.

The students were: from Chimacum: Kylee Johnson, Ella Kasperson, Ava Shiflett and Julia Breitweg; from Quilcene: Ava Erickson; from Blue Heron: Josephine Mack, Ruby Mesas, Ruby Mills, Virginia Su and Hazel Windstorm; and from the Sunfield School: Charlotte Capel.
