Funtastic Carnival workers begin setting up the Umbrella Ride, one of the attractions for Rhody Week festivities, on Tuesday morning in Port Townsend.
Memorial Field’s surface is dry and hard, and organizers feel there will be little damage to the turf this year.
The carnival begins Thursday at 4 p.m.
