PORT ANGELES — The School Board will be asked to approve 11 new certified teacher positions at the regular board meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Port Angeles High School library, 304 E. Park Ave.
The positions include two new elementary teachers, an elementary music teacher, a middle school science teacher, a math teacher at the high school and a fire science teacher for the vocational education program.
Some of the positions are part time, while others are full time to accommodate a growing elementary school enrollment and to allow middle and high school students to meet increased science and math graduation requirements, district officials said.
The May enrollment report also will be discussed at the meeting.
Port Angeles High School Principal Jeff Clark will present the high school’s annual end-of-year update, including overall school achievement reports and individual student awards.
