SNOHOMISH — The Sequim High School Robotics Club has won a district championship.

The competition at Glacier Peak High School in Snohomish was the first district contest for the Sequim team.

The district championship was the first in the team’s five-year history.

The team now qualifies for the Regional Competition in Cheney on April 1-4.

During alliance selection for the finals, the team was selected to compete with the second seed alliance composed of teams 2522 and 492 in the finals.

With this alliance, the Sequim High club won every match in finals, including the district championship.

At this competition, they also won the Innovation in Control Award sponsored by Rockwell Automation that celebrates “an innovative control system or application of control components — electrical, mechanical, or software — to provide unique machine functions,”according to a news release.
