SEQUIM — A pair of musical ensembles will converge for an unusual concert tonight:

“Bach to Bluegrass,” with the Powerhouse band and the Deka Piano Trio taking the stage at the Dungeness Schoolhouse, 2781 Towne Road.

The Deka — cellist Marlene Moore, violinist Penelope Linterman and pianist Gary McRoberts — will step up first at 7 p.m. with a set of short pieces by Mozart, Bach, Debussy, Carl Bohm and Cecile Chaminade — plus a “Phantom of the Opera” medley arranged by McRoberts.

After a 15-minute intermission, the seven-member Powerhouse, featuring teenage fiddler Kate Powers, will deliver tunes from “Sweet Georgia Brown” to “Benny and Bea’s Waltz.”

The Peninsula Friends of Music Performance, a nonprofit group, is presenting this concert and requesting a $10 donation at the door, while students will be admitted free.
