Nursing student awarded grant of $1,000 from Port Angeles chapter of Philanthropic Educational Organization

PORT ANGELES — Port Angeles Chapter IV of the Philanthropic Educational Organization (PEO) recently honored Katharine Boyd with a $1,000 Program for Continuing Education grant.

This grant is for women who have returned to college and are within two years of completing their coursework.

Boyd is a student at Peninsula College in the registered nursing program and will graduate in June 2016.

She and her family reside in Port Angeles, and Boyd plans to obtain a position in the community upon graduation.

PEO has 13 chapters on the Olympic Peninsula and offers six financial grants for women who are continuing their education.
