SEQUIM — The Eagles edged out the Wolves in a close meet at Sequim Aquatic Recreation Center.

Eric Prosser swam a personal-best time in the 500-yard freestyle and qualified for districts in both the 200 and 500 free.

“He has now qualified for districts in all individual events, excluding the 100 breastroke that he has yet to swim this year,” Sequim coach Linda Moats said.

“He also helped the 200 free relay attain a best time of 1 minute, 56.23 seconds this year; that is only four seconds off the district qualifying time.”

Prosser swam anchor for the Wolves and made up a distance of about one-third of the length of the pool to give Sequim the win.

Wendall Lorenzen bettered his time in the 200 free by 10 seconds and the 100 breaststroke by six seconds.

“We changed his stroke technique this last week in the breastroke and it really paid off,” Moats said.

“He also swam well in the 200 free relay to help that team obtain a best time by three seconds.”

Sequim visits Bremerton on Thursday, Jan. 29.
