Peninsula College plans meetings on financial planning for college in Port Angeles and Forks this month.

The free College Goal Washington is for students and parents interested in learning more about federal financial aid and scholarship opportunities.

The Port Angeles meeting will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 24 in Maier Hall on Peninsula College’s campus, 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd., Port Angeles.

The Forks meeting — which will be on a smaller scale, according to college officials — will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 31 at Peninsula College’s Forks branch, 481 S. Forks Ave.

The event is designed for both prospective and continuing students, as well as anyone who is contemplating attending college.

In Port Angeles, Peninsula College Financial Aid staff will be on site to assist students and their families with completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Washington Application for State Financial Aid (WASFA), and to create scholarship profiles on www.TheWashBoard.org.

Students and their families also can attend sessions on Financial Aid 101, scholarships and the College Bound program.

A session will also be offered in Spanish, and interpreters will be available.

Each person who signs in at the event will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win gift cards and Peninsula College gear.

Information also will be provided at the Forks meeting, with Spanish-speaking interpreters available.
