EYE ON CLALLAM: County, state consider pact on fish ladder

The three Clallam County commissioners will consider an agreement with the state Department of Fish and Wildlife for construction of a fish ladder in Canyon Creek on Tuesday.
The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. in the commissioners’ boardroom (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
Other agenda items include:
■ An update on Teamsters Union 589.
■ An agreement with the state Department of Health for delivery of public health services through December 2017.
■ A contract amendment with the state Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs and Friendship Diversion to correct the distribution of participant fees.
■ Resolutions appointing members to the county Building Code Board of Appeals, Clallam Bay-Sekiu Community Action Team, Heritage Advisory Board, Lake Sutherland Steering Committee and Permit Advisory Board.
■ A resolution appointing members and restructuring the membership of the Sheriff’s Citizens Advisory Board.
Commissioners will meet at 9 a.m. Monday for their weekly work session.
Discussion items include the review process for hearing examiner proposals and the recommendation of a bid award for the Elwha interpretive gateway center kiosk project.
Charter review
The Clallam County Charter Review Commission will hold its first meeting Tuesday.
The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. in Room 160 at the Clallam County Courthouse.
Commission members will take oaths of office, elect officers and discuss rules of procedures, meeting schedules and any other matters regarding the conduct of the business of the commission.
Forks City Council
The Forks City Council will consider adopting the international fire code when it meets Monday.
The council will meet at 7:30 p.m. at 500 E. Division St.
Olympic Medical Center
Olympic Medical Center commissioners will consider buying a 64-slice CT scan and a physician employment contract during a special meeting Tuesday.
The session will start at noon in Linkletter Hall in the basement of the hospital, 939 Caroline St., Port Angeles.
Clallam PUD
Meetings of Clallam County Public Utility District commissioners originally set for Monday and Dec. 29 have been canceled.
The next regular meeting will be Monday, Jan. 5.
