Published 12:01 am Monday, November 17, 2014

Tax-Aide on the North Olympic Peninsula is looking for new volunteers to prepare federal income tax returns for the coming tax season.

Tax-Aide volunteers provide free tax return preparation and electronic filing for low- and middle-income community members.

The Tax-Aide program is sponsored by the Internal Revenue Service and the AARP Foundation.

Training in December

AARP membership is not required to volunteer or to receive Tax-Aide’s free tax preparation and e-filing services.

Training begins in December using training materials and software provided by the IRS.

All volunteers must attend training classes and pass an IRS test before assisting taxpayers during the tax season.
