SHINE — A Coast Guard training exercise will require closure of the Hood Canal Bridge for two 30-minute intervals Tuesday, the state Department of Transportation said today.

The bridge is scheduled to be closed to traffic — and opened for maritime purposes — at 10:30 a.m. and 1:45 p.m.

During that time, Coast Guard members will practice security

maneuvers involving multiple vessels discharging simulated gunfire,

smoke and pyrotechnic flares.

Again, the closures to traffic are expected to last 30 minutes each, DOT said.
