Tickets on sale for Habitat’s ‘Soiree by the Sea’

PORT ANGELES — Habitat for Humanity of Clallam County will host the group’s fourth annual “Soiree by the Sea” fundraiser Saturday.

The fundraiser will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Port Angeles Yacht Club on Marine Drive.

Tickets are $20 each and can be purchased at The Habitat Store, 728 E. Front St., Port Angeles; by phoning 360-681-6780; or at the door the day of the event.

Proceeds will support Habitat’s mission of “building homes, building hope” for working families in need throughout Clallam County, said Maitland Peet, executive director.

The soiree is open to the public and will feature hors d’oeuvres, refreshments from several local wineries and local oysters barbecued to taste.

Entertainment will be provided by Michael Rivers, local songwriter and entertainer.

A silent auction will offer an assortment of more than 40 donated gifts and entertainments, including a helicopter ride, a yacht cruise on the Strait of Juan de Fuca, lodging and transportation to Victoria hotels, gift certificates to local restaurants, full auto details and a hand-made quilt.

“We are very appreciative of the support we have received from many local businesses and individuals involved in this effort,” said Dick Chambers, Habitat board president.

“Our partner families who will be building in our newest development, the Maloney Heights subdivision on West 16th Street in Port Angeles, and also at our Maloney Lane subdivision in Forks, will directly benefit from their goodwill.”
