PORT ANGELES — A delegation of 39 students and their five adult chaperones from Mutsu City, Japan, will leave Monday after a five-day visit to Port Angeles.
Members of the delegation, all from Tanabu Senior High School, are staying with 28 host families from Port Angeles.
The Japanese students attended class at Port Angeles High School with student hosts and visited their second-and third-grade pen pals at Jefferson Elementary.
They were greeted in council chambers at Port Angeles City Hall on Thursday by Mayor Cherie Kidd and Deputy Mayor Brad Collins.
The visit, arranged by the Peninsula International Relations Association and the Port Angeles School District, is an annual cultural exchange between the two sister cities.
The delegation also will tour Victoria as well as other areas on the Olympic Peninsula.
