PORT ANGELES — A woman who collided with a car while riding her bicycle earlier this week was in stable condition on Thursday at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Shawna M. York, 30, of Port Angeles had “serious injuries to her legs” when she collided with a Ford Explorer at about 3 p.m. Tuesday, said Port Angeles Deputy Police Chief Brian Smith.

Smith said she was found underneath the vehicle along with her bicycle.

The Explorer and York collided while the vehicle was turning right onto First Street from Vine Street, police said.

The wreck blocked one lane of First Street and the northbound lane of Vine Street near the intersection for about three hours, said police Detective Kevin Spencer.

Police have not determined if charges will be filed, Smith said.

The investigation is ongoing, he said.
