Brinnon: Scheduled power outage this Sunday

Brinnon residents will be without electricity next Sunday morning as crews work to replace a piece of equipment.

Mason County Public Utility District No. 1, which supplies power to areas south of Walker Mountain, will shut off the power from 12:01 a.m. to 6 a.m. on May 2.

The outage area will be from Walker Mountain south to Jorstad Creek in Mason County.

Reason for the outage: The Bonneville Power Administration is replacing a transformer near the Duckabush River.
