PORT HADLOCK — A 21-year-old Port Angeles man was killed Tuesday while working on construction of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office annex.

Colin Gregory, an apprentice carpenter with Carlsborg-based Primo Construction, Inc. was knocked off of a ladder by some plywood falling from the roof.

The wood began to slip and Gregory leaned over to catch it, Jefferson County Fire District No. 1 spokeswoman Denise Manly said.

After hitting the ground the plywood fell on top of Gregory, crushing him.
