The Port of Port Townsend and Northwest Maritime have been trying to deter at least six male sea lions from taking up residence on dock floats at Union Wharf and Point Hudson. At the recommendation of NOAA Fisheries, they tied an inflatable orca resembling a sea lion predator to a dock. They are currently working on another method that will hopefully get the animals to leave before this weekend’s Race to Alaska events. (Port of Port Townsend)
