PORT TOWNSEND — The alchemists and the Procrastinators are, at last, prepared. So is their art made of silver, pottery, glass and even herbs for downtown Port Townsend’s Gallery Walk, a free event from 5:30 p.m. till 8 p.m. Saturday.
A sampling of what to see this time around:
■ “Artful Alchemy” is the new show at the Port Townsend Gallery, 715 Water St. This group jewelry exhibition features Shirley Moss, aka the Chainmaker, Caroline Littlefield, Addy Thornton and Andrea Guarino.
■ The Procrastinators, another band of local artists, present their annual Holiday Sale at 839 Water St., from 10 a.m. till 8 p.m. Saturday.
This year the group is having Celtic music, art by 17 participants and items to benefit three local organizations: calendars and crafts from The Gatheringplace, provider of activities for people with disabilities; painted bowls from the Community Bowl Project and scholarship wreaths from Port Townsend High School.
■ The Northwind Arts Center, in its new location at 701 Water St. (at Quincy Street), hosts “Small Expressions,” a juried show of small format artworks, through December.
The opening reception is part of Saturday evening’s Gallery Walk, and then juror Teresa Verraes will give a free talk at 1 p.m. this Sunday.
■ Gallery 9, at 1012 Water St., shows off jeweler Michael S. Kenney and oil painter Sandra Offutt’s creations. The artists will be on hand to chat tonight.
■ “Penumbra,” a performance piece celebrating the winter solstice, will fill Studio 36 both this Saturday evening and Saturday, Dec. 20.
Artists Aimee Kelly, Amy Priest and Camille Hindebrandt will perform with David Noble’s live electronic soundscape at 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. this Saturday, and all are welcome to see the whole piece or come and go as they wish.
Studio 36 is upstairs in the Mount Baker Block building at 211 Taylor St.
