The Port Townsend City Council will discuss a draft letter on a proposed increase in Growler jet operations on Naval Air Station Whidbey Island when it meets Monday.
The council will meet at 6:30 p.m. at historic City Hall, 540 Water St.
The council also will continue a public hearing on the 2016 Comprehensive Plan Update.
Councilman Robert Gray has asked for more information pertaining to temporary encampments for the homeless
The hearing is expected to be continued to Aug. 29 for continued deliberations and tentative action.
The council also will consider authorizing the acquisition of land for the Quimper Wildlife Corridor, accepting donations from the Jefferson Land Trust.
County commissioners
The three Jefferson County commissioners will consider applying for county Rural Arterial Program funds for for work on Center and South Discovery roads when they meet Monday.
The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. in chambers, 1820 Jefferson St., Port Townsend.
The plan is to apply for a possible $639,000 for the $710,000 Center Road project to resurface between mileposts 14.61 and 15.01, and to apply for a possible $828,000 for the $920,000 project to rehabilitate South Discovery Road between mileposts 4.52 and 4.84.
The items are on the consent agreement, meaning they won’t be discussed unless requested.
The only item on the agenda for discussion is considering an amendment to the Salish Behavioral Health Organization agreement. The change would allow one non-voting representative of the Olympic Community of Health on the advisory board.
At 1:30 p.m., commissioners will be briefed on the 2017-22 Six-Year Transportation Improvement Program at 1:30 p.m.
Other items on the consent agenda include:
• Canceling the Aug. 22 commissioners meeting because a quorum will not be available and setting a special meeting for Aug. 29.
• Approval of special occasion liquor license applications for Key City Public Theatre on this coming Saturday, for Aug. 27 and Aug. 28, and for Friends of Fort Flagler on Sept. 4.
• Issuing a hearing notice for Sept. 12 on the 2017-22 Six-Year Transportation Improvement Program.
• Approving Elizabeth and Sean Taggart as caretakers of H.J. Carroll Park.
Board of Health
The Jefferson County Board of Health will conduct a public hearing on proposed food fee schedule revisions when it meets Thursday.
The board will meet at 2:30 p.m. at the Jefferson County Public Health Department at 615 Sheridan St., Port Townsend.
The proposed fee schedule adjustments can be found at www.jefferson countypublichealth.org.
The board also will receive an update on the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program; consider setting a public hearing for Sept. 15 on fees for the on-site sewage system management plan; and hear 2016 county health rankings.
Jefferson PUD
Jefferson County Public Utility District commissioners will discuss state audits for 2013 and 2014 when they meet Tuesday.
The special meeting will be at 11:30 a.m. at 250 Chimacum Road, Port Hadlock.
Jefferson Transit
Jefferson Transit board members will conduct a public hearing on the Transit Development Plan and the Transportation Improvement Plan when they meet Tuesday.
The meeting will be at 1:30 p.m. in the boardroom at 63 Four Corners Road, Port Townsend.
The board will consider passage of the plans after the hearing.
