Port Hadlock woman hurt in van crash south of Port Townsend

PORT TOWNSEND — A Port Hadlock woman was airlifted to a Seattle hospital Saturday afternoon after a minivan hit a tree by the side of state Highway 20.

Diana R. Sayer, 49, was a passenger in a 2003 Toyota Sienna minivan being driven by Rashad A Richardson, 34, westbound on state Highway 20 about 2 miles south of Port Townsend at about 1:50 p.m., according to the State Patrol.

The van left the roadway to the right and struck a tree, the State Patrol said.

Richardson was uninjured, the State Patrol said, while Sayer was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center.

Her condition was not immediately available Saturday.

Children uninjured

Bill Beezley, public information officer for East Jefferson Fire-Rescue, said medics arrived at the scene to find two children, 3 and 4 years old, had also been passengers in the van and were uninjured.

The State Patrol listed negligent driving as the cause of the wreck.
