PORT ANGELES — Peninsula College’s first group of students in its new honors program received laptops in a special ceremony this month.
The six students were honored Dec. 3. The Peninsula College Foundation board presented them with the free laptops.
The honors program emphasizes self-assessment, critical thinking skills and an integrated approach to knowledge, along with capstone project work.
It allows students to explore an area of interest.
“The Peninsula College Foundation board is committed to providing exceptional learning opportunities for students, and they were especially pleased to support PC’s honors students as they undertake this new rigorous course of study,” said Getta Rogers, foundation development manager.
Bruce Hattendorf, associate dean of instruction, said the laptops will be tools to be used in seminar classes and on project work.
