UPDATED: Hood Canal Bridge reopens after mechanical issue

SHINE — The Hood Canal Bridge has reopened to traffic following a mechanical issue, the state Department of Transportation reported.

The bridge reopened at 9:26 p.m. Monday, WSDOT said.

During a routine closure for a marine vessel at 1:02 p.m., the bridge experienced a mechanical malfunction, WSDOT said. Maintenance crews were working to identify the cause, the agency said.
