The Olympic Peninsula Chapter 74 of the International Footprint Association recently honored the achievements of 11 Clallam County law enforcement and public safety organizations at its annual Officer of the Year banquet at the Sequim Elks Lodge during Law Enforcement Week.

Program chairman Gene Mattson and chapter president Sandra Strafford presented special recognition plaques to officers selected by their agencies who have excelled in their careers by going above and beyond the call of duty.

Among those honored were PenCom Records Specialist Jodi Simmons, Clallam County Corrections Deputy Owen McCann, Sequim Police Department Officer Taran Johnson, Port Angeles Police Officer Kyle Buchanan, Lower Elwha Klallam Police Officer Cody Hesler, Washington State Patrol Trooper Lynden Schwilke, Clallam Bay Corrections Sgt. Tanner House, Port Angeles Fire Department Firefighter/Paramedic Trainee Elizabeth Hagaman, Clallam County Fire District #2 Captain Marty Martinez, Clallam County Fire District #3 volunteer EMT Brandan Tucker and Clallam County Fire District #4 Lt. David Benzick.
