Government meetings across North Olympic Peninsula

The boards of local government agencies will meet next week on the North Olympic Peninsula.

Clallam County

The three Clallam County commissioners will hear the state Department of Natural Resources’ fourth quarter county income report from Mona Griswold and Drew Rosanbalm in their weekly work session Monday.

The commissioners’ work session at 9 a.m. Monday will preview items set for action at their formal meeting, which starts at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

• A letter of support for the U.S. Coast Guard’s efforts to have the Slip Point Light Station included on the National Registry of Historic Places.

• A purchase order for network hardware for the county courthouse totalling $57,928 from CDW-Government.

• A quitclaim deed from Sue and Thomas Bond for a portion of property needed to complete the proposed joint public safety facility campus.

• A report from Jackson and Associates outlining due diligence research into property for the proposed joint public safety facility.

• A proposed lease of a 5,000 square foot building at 325½ W. Second St., Port Angeles for $3,500 per month to house Health and Human Services’ harm reduction unit.

• A request for a waiver of the bid/RFP/quote requirement for the purchase of $49,575 in office furniture from Pacific Office Equipment for the Environmental Health division.

• A call for a public hearing at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 11, regarding the proposed changes to the county sign ordinance.

• An update on the Dungeness off-channel reservoir project from Public Works.

• A discussion on the commissioners’ legislative agenda.

• A resolution to authorize Public Works to use the Municipal Research and Services Center of Washington’s small public works roster.

• An agreement with the Department of Ecology for $367,770 in funding for Public Works to plan, implement and manage a nutrient discharge reduction program for the Clallam Bay and Sekiu wastewater treatment plants through Dec. 31, 2025.

• A request for proposals to design and construct a bag filtration water treatment plant for the Bullman Beach Water System; proposals are due but 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 25.

• An application from the Sheriff’s Office Emergency Management Division for a $100,000 Solar Plus Storage for Resilient Communities grant for a solar/battery system for certain building on the county fairgrounds.

• A discussion regarding the proposed multi-state settlement with five opioid distributors: CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, Teva and Allergan.
