Quilcene student serves as House of Representatives page

OLYMPIA — Quilcene School student Eryn Brown-Munn recently served as a page in the state House of Representatives.

Brown-Munn was sponsored by Rep. Mike Chapman (D-Port Angeles).

The page program offers a hands-on opportunity for students to find out how state government works.

The interactive learning experience includes classes focused on topics such as budget writing and how a bill becomes a law, which culminates in pages creating their own bills in a mock committee setting.

Pages assume a wide variety of responsibilities, from presenting the flags to distributing amendments on the House floor.
