New van for vets donated

Cheri Tinker, executive director of Forks-based Sarge’s Veterans Support, front, looks over the features of a donated van with Mark Schildknecht, commandant of Mount Olympus Detatchmet 897 of the Marine Corps League after turning over the keys on Thursday at the Northwest Veterans Resource Center in Port Angeles. The 2013 Ford Explorer van, donated by the Marine Corps League, will be used by the North Olympic Regional Veterans Housing Network for ferrying Forks-area vets to and from medical appointments and for veterans outreach services.
