Bigfoot researcher to speak in Port Townsend

Ron Morehead of Sequim will speak at the library this Friday.

PORT TOWNSEND — A Bigfoot researcher will tell of his adventures at the Port Townsend Library from 7 to 8 tonight.

Ron Morehead of Sequim will speak at the library at 1220 Lawrence St., Port Townsend.

Morehead has written two books and produced two CDs about his 40 years of research.

“Voices in the Wilderness” was produced in 2012. His new book, “The Quantum Bigfoot,” is due out later this year.

In the early 1970s, he was part of a group of hunters who annually packed into a remote area of the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California.

During these trips, group members said they began getting evening visits from a family of creatures that left huge five-toed prints.

They recorded the creatures’ vocalizations, according to Keith Darrock, public and technical services manager at the library, in a news release.

“These recordings have been professionally studied and documented as having a complex language,” the release said.

Morehead’s CDs include the creatures’ vocalizations, the library said.
