PORT ANGELES — Northwinds Homeschool Band is offering flower baskets to fund expenses.
Baskets are available for $30 each or $28 for four or more. Delivery of baskets is provided to residences and businesses.
Band members recently gathered to plant 365 flower baskets to sell as the program’s primary fundraiser.
Proceeds from basket sales help to fund homeschool band expenses, including travel to and fees for competitions and festivals — such as their award-winning trip to Anaheim, Calif., last month for the WorldStrides Festival of Gold and Heritage Festival — music acquisition, and instrument purchases.
Each hanging basket is padded with molded coconut fiber liners and contains one each of pansies, violas, geraniums, petunias, dianthus and ivy, with two of lobelia and nemesia or bacopa.
