LETTER:Times changed

An older friend of mine was relating a story yesterday, well, let’s say a memory.

He talked of being a youngster during WWII and sitting on the porch waiting for his grandfather to return home from work.

Actually he was waiting to hear him.

You see, his grandpa was driving a car with no tires, because rubber was rationed for the war effort.

He would come clattering down the road, riding on the car’s rims.

Hard to imagine any of these cretins who are against mask and vaccine mandates putting up with that.

They probably would have cried, “There is no war!”
