LETTER: Supports Vega

Tyler Vega is running for Port Townsend City Council in the upcoming primary.

Tyler is not part of the political establishment, which is a good thing.

He will bring fresh ideas to the council and will work hard to serve all the people in our town, not just a chosen few.

As the only person of color running, his election will bring important diversity to our council.

Tyler is well-liked in Port Townsend and is known for his community-minded attitude.

He goes out of his way to help others and never seeks attention for it.

He is humble.

For example, Tyler organized a group to deliver 500 gallons of water to a local farm whose crops were dying because the well ran dry.

His can-do attitude will help our community respond effectively to climate change, the housing crisis and homelessness.

Tyler is a musician, computer specialist, mariner (50 ton U.S. Coast Guard Masters License), healthcare assistant and father.

He is a family man so he understands the challenges many families face in today’s economy.

He has shown in his activist background that he has the courage to confront issues to improve things.

Voters can learn more about Tyler at his campaign website, www.tylervega.com.

Please vote Vega in the Aug. 3 primary election.
