Pipe organ recital scheduled Sunday

PORT ANGELES — Noah Smith’s pipe organ concert will feature the world premiere of Boxes by Keith Sisterhenm.
The free recital will be at 6 p.m. Sunday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 301 E. Lopez in Port Angeles. Donations will be accepted; all money collected will benefit the United Way of Clallam County.
Brooklyn based composer Sisterhenm will be present and will offer a pre-concert composer talk to contextualize the piece at 5:30 p.m. Sunday.
A reception will follow the concert.
The concert will feature a set of pieces composed by African-American composers, Mendelssohn, Bach, Distler as well as Sisterhenm’s piece, which was commissioned by Smith.
