Auditions set for improv musical

PORT ANGELES — The Peninsula College drama department will conduct auditions for its theatrical production, “The 100% Totally Improvised Musical” on Dec. 5-7. Performances of the improv musical are set for March 13-15.

The auditions Dec. 5 will be from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Little Theater on the college’s Port Angeles campus, 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd. The auditions for Dec. 6-7 will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hub, 117 N. Lincoln St., Port Angeles.

The musical production will combine improvisation, live music and audience participation to create a different show every night.

Performers will create scenes and songs on the spot, inspired by audience suggestions and supported by live accompaniment from professional musicians.

The production will be led by Lara Starcevich, a Peninsula College drama professor, with Shannon Cosgrove of Nemesis Theater Productions and Mark Valentine of Improv Without a Net.

Starcevich anticipates rehearsals from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, possibly more frequently when the live band is brought in. The auditions are open to the community and all levels of singing are invited, from beginners to seasoned performers.
