Jesse Major/Peninsula Daily News Port Angeles Police Officer Kyle Cooper pets a female deer that was stuck between two fence posts downtown Monday. Port Angeles firefighters used the Jaws of Life to separate the posts and set the doe free at about 12:30 p.m. The doe appeared to have attempted to jump through the gap between fence posts at the intersection of Marine Drive and Front Street, but its hips couldn’t make it through. “Never have I seen anything like that,” he said. Cooper said the deer appeared mostly unharmed, with minor skin injuries.
