WOMEN’S WORLD CUP: U.S. women barely escape loss against Portugal

AUCKLAND, New Zealand — A goal post saved the United States from elimination at the Women’s World Cup.

The Port Angeles-based Wicked Racing Team competes at the Extreme Sports Park on Sunday in the American Sprint Boat Racing finals in the unlimited class. The Wicked Racing boat, driven by Dan Morrison and navigated by Sami Gustufson, finished third. A total of 38 teams from the U.S., Canada and New Zealand competed at ESP this weekend.
