SEQUIM — A fire destroyed a travel trailer in the 600 block of O’Brien Road late Tuesday night, firefighters said Wednesday.

No one was hurt, firefighters said.

Assistant Chief Eric Quitslund of Clallam County Fire District No. 3 said when he arrived at the fire shortly after 10:40 p.m. Tuesday, the trailer was engulfed in flames.

“Most all of the trailer had been consumed,” he said. “It basically burned down to the frame.

“They go fast.”

He said the fire appears to be accidental, but the trailer burned so much, it was impossible to tell where the blaze started.

Quitslund said there was no evidence to work with as to how it started but added that the trailer had been plugged into electricity.

“It’s not suspicious,” he said.

The owner was in his house near the trailer at the time. He reported the fire after hearing what sounded like an explosion.

Quitslund said the sound likely came from a tire.
