Wilder Senior still alive

BELLEVUE — Wilder Senior was still alive for a top-3 finish in Lakeside Recovery’s Brandy Pugh Memorial Summer Classic entering its Sunday evening game with Boys of Summer.

A win in that contest and Wilder Senior would play today at 4 p.m. at Bannerwood Park.

Braydan White and Ezra Townsend homered to power Saturday’s 12-3 win over Michael’s Toyota (Chehalis) which kept Wilder Senior in the running.

White hit a solo shot in the first inning to put Wilder up 1-0 and Townsend’s two-run blast gave Wilder a 4-2 lead two innings later.

Kody Williams drove in three runs, including a two-run double in the top of the seventh to put Wilder Senior up 9-3.

Olson earned the win, giving up a run on a hit and six walks with five strikeouts.

The Senior squad opened the tourney with a 4-0 shutout of Narrows Premier on Thursday to open Green Division play in the 12-team event.

Friday was a tough day for Wilder Senior, losing on a walk-off single in a 7-6 loss to the Tri City Titans and getting blanked 8-0 by Elevate Bandits, the tournament’s lone unbeaten team.

Jordan Shumway, Devyn Dearinger and Romero each tallied two hits in the close loss to Tri City.
