UPDATE — Forks City Hall found clear of explosives after bomb threat

FORKS — A State Patrol bomb squad found no explosives at the Forks City Hall after a bomb threat was phoned in this afternoon.

A bomb technician x-rayed a package or packages that had been delivered to the building at 500 East Division St., that houses the City Hall, Clallam County District Court II and the city jail, said Trooper Russ Winger, State Patrol spokesman.

The packages “were found to contain nothing explosive,” Winger said.

A bomb dog swept the area and found nothing out of the ordinary,” he added, saying that the all-clear was received at about 7 p.m.

A bomb threat had been called into the court at about 1:30 p.m., prompting an evacuation of City Hall and the court, said Forks Mayor Bryon Monohon.
