PORT LUDLOW — One person died at the scene of a three car wreck on state Highway 19 between Chimacum and Port Ludlow on Friday afternoon.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department, an SUV was traveling north in the southbound lane and crashed into the two other vehicles, both traveling south.

The two vehicles traveling south, a small delivery truck and a small Honda, rolled off to the west side of the road.

The driver of the SUV, an unidentified 66-year-old man, died at the scene.

Two people, both passengers, were airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. State Patrol identified the two as Luis Maturino Morales, 43, of Tacoma, and Horacio Reyes Ramos, 18, of Bremerton.

Two others were transported via ambulance to Jefferson Healthcare in Port Townsend. They were identified as Brayan Valez Torres, 22, of Tacoma and Albino Reyes Ramos, 24, of Bremerton.

The wreck was called in at 1 p.m. and first responders from Port Ludlow Fire and Rescue, East Jefferson Fire Rescue, Quilcene Fire Department, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and one engine from the Naval Magazine Indian Island were dispatched to the scene.

The wreck blocked traffic in both directions and the Jefferson County Department of Public works stopped traffic at Chimacum Road and Oak Bay Road to reroute traffic.

The scene was turned over the State Patrol around 2:30 p.m. According to Winger, troopers finished up their investigation around 6:40 p.m. and reopened Highway 19 shortly before 8 p.m. Friday.
