PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles Business Association has approved drafting a letter to the Port of Port Angeles supporting Platypus Marine Inc.’s drive for equal treatment as the company expedites a planned $6 million expansion.
The draft letter will come back to association members for final approval.
“The letter is going to have to be crafted very carefully,” association President Jack Glaubert said during the groups meeting Tuesday.
The approval of the letter followed a presentation on company concerns by Platypus Sales and Marketing Manager Cher Merrill.
According to Merrill, company officials want Platypus to be treated with the same regard as Westport Shipyard Inc. was when it selected Port Angeles as a possible location to build a new luxury yacht manufacturing plant.
