FORKS — A Forks man was taken to Forks Community Hospital as a precaution after the pickup truck he was driving south along U.S. Highway 101 left the road to the east and ended up on its roof in a ditch early Saturday morning.

Bill Paul, Chief of Clallam County Fire District No. 1, said a 9-1-1 call came in at 2:30 a.m. Saturday about a Ford F-150 pickup truck on its roof on the side of Highway 101 about 1 mile south of Forks.

Paramedic crews arrived and removed the truck’s passenger side door, Paul said, after which the man got out on his own.

“Once we cut him out, he just got up and walked out,’ Paul said, who did not have the man’s name Saturday.

Paul said the man did not appear to be injured.
