SHINE — The state Department of Transportation has scheduled overnight closures of the Hood Canal bridge on state Highway 104 at 10 p.m. Thursday and Friday evenings.
The bridge will reopen at 5 a.m. Friday and Saturday mornings.
The seven-hour closures will allow work crews to complete the replacement of worn shock absorbers on the bridge, according to a WSDOT press release.
The overnight closures have been rescheduled several times due to delays in the center lock replacement, which must be completed before the shock absorbers can be replaced.
Due to the nature of the work, the bridge will not open for any traffic, including emergency vehicles, during the overnight closures.
The overnight work is weather-dependent and may be rescheduled.
